Most of us don't like to talk about what happens in the bathroom. We’re here to change that. Being #PeeAware means knowing what’s normal for you, and knowing when to take action.
The Facts:
If it stings when you pee, or if you feel like you’re stuck in a loop of Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) that antibiotics aren't clearing, don't just "tough it out."
Why it matters:
Chronic irritation or infections that don’t respond to standard treatment can mask the symptoms of bladder cancer. If the "burn" keeps coming back, your bladder is trying to tell you something.
Your Next Steps:
Don't just reorder antibiotics: ask your GP for a referral to a urologist.
Be clear: Say, "I have persistent urinary symptoms/UTIs that aren't clearing with antibiotics. I want to rule out bladder cancer."
Keep a record: Note down how many infections you've had in the last 6 months.
Tell your GP clearly:
"I have persistent urinary symptoms/UTIs that aren't clearing with antibiotics. I want to rule out bladder cancer."
